Google Nexus 4 coming to Three, minus bargain price-tag

Three will begin selling the LG Google Nexus 4 on December 13th, when O2's one-month exclusive deal comes to an end

Mobile operator Three UK has announced it will be carrying the new LG Google Nexus 4 handset, but don't expect to be able to pick it up on the cheap.

The network is selling the handset off contract for £399.99 (plus a top-up), which far exceeds the market-defying £239.99 (£279.99 for the 16GB model) Google had been offering the SIM-free device for through its official Play store.

Naturally, Google's initial inventory sold-out in less than 30-minutes leaving thousands of potential customers either empty handed or waiting weeks for delivery.

As well as the buy-outright option, Three also announced that it will be offering the Nexus 4 on contract. The monthly tariff will be £35 on Three's One Plan, with a £29 premium on the handset itself.

Outside of Google Play store, Three's rival network O2 is currently enjoying a month-long exclusive on the Nexus 4 handset in the UK. The company had been offering a free handset on a contract of £36 a month or more.

Three will begin selling the device when O2's period exclusivity ends on December 13th.
